After the excitement of Titanic Cup, Ireland’s biggest and Northern Ireland’s first two day tournament, died down, we have even more exciting news for the future.
In an effort to bring together all of the various groups of Blood Bowl players in Northern Ireland, a few dedicated Commissioners, Tournament Organisers and Community Builders have officially opened the NIBB Discord Server. The Discord server will be the home of all Blood Bowl news for anyone who either lives in NI or wishes to travel there for Blood Bowl.
On top of offering a diaspora of opinions and perspectives of top notch Blood Bowl chat, the community hopes to bring together a range of benefits that coaches might not immediately think available. There’s a buy and sell area and even a commission painting channel for coaches that may want to offer or avail of them as well as chat and support for anyone thinking about travelling as a group to a tournament further afield.
The community’s focus will be on NI growth of the game and our coaches as we look to increase the number of and attendance at NAF sanctioned Blood Bowl tournaments in NI, increase the amount of people playing in leagues and foster growth of new local hubs and leagues under the NIBB banner. NIBB has already created a new player’s guide to help bring new players in the fold and support their growth from rookie coach to the point where they feel comfortable attending an event or playing in a league. Rookie coaches are not the only focus either, as the community wants to harbour a “grow together” approach and are already offering online and in person mentoring for people who want to up their game or see BB from a different perspective.
One of the key ways the community will achieve this is by getting as much information about the community at large through a survey that you can access in the Discord Server. The team want to know all about your Blood Bowl tendencies and what you think might improve your experience. We also want to welcome in any groups of coaches that we don’t know of yet, so that the focus is shared beyond the three main leagues in the province (Exploding Dice, Lisburn and Mourne Area). NIBB will sit alongside the all Ireland group, EIRE BB, just offering a more concentrated focus on the region.
